Matthew Norris-Hill
Hampshire
Matthew grew up in Hampshire where his father, Peter, was farm manager for Tom Parker Farms. After attending Sparsholt College Hampshire and Writtle College in Essex he graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Rural Resource Development, specialising in Wildlife and Landscape Conservation. On graduation Matthew worked at Brinsbury Agricultural College in West Sussex before joining Surrey & Hampshire FWAG in 1999 as Advisor for Hampshire. He also holds an MSc in Environmental Management from Birkbeck, University of London, completing a dissertation investigating the benefits to agriculture and the environment from over winter cover crops.
At FWAG South East Matthew is a partner of the LLP and works as a farm conservation advisor providing on-farm advice, agri-environment and woodland management plans plus deer impact assessments. He also holds Natural England protected species licences for Great Crested Newts and Dormice and is involved in a number of projects to monitor and provide enhancements, plus he regularly carries out Bat surveys. For many years Matthew has also lectured at University Centre, Sparsholt College on Agri-environment & Habitat Management.
