Laura Francis

Laura has a very strong working knowledge of agriculture gained from working both as a Farm Adviser and an Agronomist. More specifically, Laura has excellent knowledge of arable crop production and has subsequently worked closely with partners, such as The Environment Agency, Agronomy Firms and Water Companies, to reduce diffuse pollution in target catchments such as the Upper Cherwell, Cotswolds and North Devon. In addition, Laura has an excellent knowledge about all aspects of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme. This was clearly demonstrated when she worked on secondment as a Catchment Sensitive Farming Officer for Natural England between 2016 to 2018 – Laura worked with farmers across North Devon and the South West, advising on over two hundred Mid-Tier and Water Capital Grant applications and several Higher Tier applications. Laura has also delivered several events in North Devon focussing both on CS and Farm Infrastructure for agents and farmers. Currently, she has worked as a deliverer for Natural England under the most recent Falma contract – delivering bespoke 1:1 advice to a range of farmers over new platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. She also works closely with partners such as the Environment Agency, focussing on compliance legislation including SSAFO and NVZ, with the FWAG South East team.
