Meet The FWAG South East Partners

Jack Scott

Assistant Farm Environment Adviser

Jack joined FWAG South East in June 2023.  He grew up around horticultural and arable crops within the Isle of Thanet, East Kent, and currently runs a 3 acre vegetable business supplying local supply chains as well as a ‘sister’ restaurant.  No chemicals are used (although not certified organic), working closely with landlord farm to implement school visits of ranging ages demonstrating that vegetables aren’t all horrible! Excited to increase cover cropping, under sowing, small scale strip tillage and applying homemade compost/fungi goodness into the system.

He graduated from the University of Kent studying Environmental Social Sciences in 2024, with previous employment in organic horticulture and conventional horticulture and arable systems.  He has also gained his BASIS Certificate in Sustainable Land Management.

His interests are in soil biology, cover crops/lays with associated biodiversity benefits, habitat creation and management on integrated farm scale approaches with associated benefits be it sociological or environmental.  He works on a number of projects in Kent, and is the Facilitator to the North East Kent Farmers Cluster group.
